The news of AMC’s hit show Breaking Bad getting turned into a movie has received mixed reactions from Twitter fans. While some are happy and excited about their favorite show getting a movie treatment, some others think there’s no need of a Breaking Bad movie as the show had a perfect ending.
You can check out fan’s reaction in the tweets below.
Created by Vince Gilligan, Breaking Bad followed the story of Walter White, a chemistry teacher who eventually turns to a life of crime after he is diagnosed with cancer. The series aired on AMC for five long seasons, split across six years, from 2008 to 2013. It starred Cranston, Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, Jonathan Banks, Bob Odenkirk, Giancarlo Esposito, Laura Fraser, and Jesse Plemons. The series also launched the prequel spin-off series, Better Call Saul, which just wrapped up its fourth season last month and is already renewed for a fifth season, which is set to air next year.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gilligan has already begun working on the two-hour movie extension of the Emmy-winning drama. He is set to write, produce, and possibly direct the Breaking Bad film. Breaking Bad and prequel series Better Call Saul executive producers Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein are also said to be attached to the film project. As per the report, the plot involves “the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom.”
At this point in time, it remains unclear if the film is being made for television or it will be released theatrically. It also remains unknown if the movie would be another prequel or a follow-up of some sort. The film will reportedly start filming in New Mexico in mid-November and will run through February. It will begin shooting under the title “Greenbrier.”

They’re ruining the ending to Breaking Bad by making a movie?

Great to hear that #VinceGilligan will be working on the new #BreakingBad movie, but will it live up to the show? Or is this another reboot to add to the pile?

No. Nope…
It was perfect as it was. One of my chief complaints of today’s crop of entertainment is that they keep remaking shows that worked out 5+ years ago.
Breaking Bad was a perfect, self contained story and should stay that way.
