Sony Likely To Roll Out New Venom Trailer This Week, Hints Cryptic Tweet

Sony Pictures’ San Diego Comic-Con panel revealed plenty of new clips from the upcoming symbiotic thriller film, Venom. The film’s director Ruben Fleischer along with actors Tom Hardy and Riz Ahmed were all in attendance in Ballroom 20 to unveil Venom’s Hall H-exclusive trailer footage.

Surprisingly, the film studio did not release a new Venom trailer during the much-celebrated pop culture event. It might be that the filmmakers decided to delay the trailer’s release since there was a massive hype among fans for DC’s Aquaman and Shazam! trailers.

Well, whatever the reason may be, a Twitter account associated with the upcoming movie is now teasing that the film studio will probably release a brand new trailer this week. The promotional Twitter account, which goes by the username Eddie’s Clubhouse, posted a tweet that the new trailer would be rolled out this week.

“Until next week,” the tweet posted on Saturday reads. You can check out the Twitter post below.

It is to be noted that Eddie’s Clubhouse is a verified account and seems to be a secondary account in which Eddie Brock answers fan’s questions and queries. But the tweet is a bit cryptic about what fans could expect this week. Perhaps a small teaser, a new photo? or a brand new trailer? we’ll soon find out.

In related news, the footage released during the SDCC panel confirmed that Venom will not have his signature white spider emblem on his chest. Explaining the reason for the same, director Ruben Fleischer said that a spider logo wouldn’t make sense as this iteration of the titular anti-hero didn’t start with Spider-Man.

If you look at the comics, in Venom, there is just elements of white within his suit,” the director said, reported Screen Geek. “Because our character does not originate from Spider-Man, it makes no sense to put a spider on his chest. We tried to be as accurate as we possibly could, even though some people feel it’s inaccurate, but there is a lot of white and we wanted to give him a distinctive pattern.”

When asked if fans can expect Venom to face off against Spider-Man, Fleischer replied that he would love to see Spider-Man and Venom in a movie together, but there are no plans for this at present.

Venom is scheduled to debut in theaters on Oct. 5, 2018.
