Writer David S. Goyer of the famous Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy fame might be roped in by Sony to direct their reboot of Masters of the Universe.
The writer of Batman Begins and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice David S.Goyer is reportedly in talks with Sony to helm Masters of the Universe, as per The Wrap. After naming Charlies Angel’s director MCG as the director of this film way back in 2016, the film had been stuck in development ever since. There were also talks of the casting process having started with actor Kellan Lutz being considered to play the lead role of He-Man. However, further details were not revealed.
Soon after Sony announced a December 2019 release for the film, it was revealed that McG would no longer be directing the film. Goyer then came on board as a writer. Now there are reports that he might also be directing the Masters of the Universe movie, a live-action movie based on the signature Mattel toy line. There is apparently no signed agreement between the two as of now, and hence there is a likelihood of Goyer being dropped off from the project. If all things go well Goyer will be the one to take the film to the finish line!
David S.Goyer is a well-known writer in Hollywood today. He rose to fame after writing the script of all the three installments of Blade movies and later ended up directing the final installment Blade: Trinity. However, he made his debut as a director in 2002 with Zig Zag.
Goyer then went on to write the script for Batman Begins. He also received story credit for Dark Knight Rises and The Dark Knight.
Goyer has worked on several films with Warner Bros. that includes Man of Steel, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Goyer is presently writing the script of Green Lantern. There are also talks of him directing the film as well.
