‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ Marketing Campaign Confirms Mysterio’s Fishbowl Helmet

Spider-Man: Far From Home recently wrapped up its New York shooting schedule, after spending months shooting in London, Prague, and Venice. A lot of onset pictures offered the first look at Tom Holland’s new Spidey suit as well as Jake Gyllenhaal’s master illusionist Mysterio. Mysterio aka Quentin Beck is one of Spidey’s most persistent foes in the comics. He is a special effects wizard who wears a fishbowl helmet and uses his expertise to create elaborate illusions.

Spider-Man: Far From Home is still currently in the post-production phase. but, the film’s marketing and promotional campaigns have already begun to show up. Candy connoisseurs @CandyKingsUK recently shared a new image of a new flavor of Dr. Pepper on Instagram. The new drink flavor- Dark Berry- will get released in correlation with the premiere of the movie.

The picture in question features a Dr. Pepper can with a dark blue and black design with a silhouette of a character on the side. The character’s silhouette has a spherical head, which is likely representing Mysterio’s iconic fishbowl helmet. You can check out the picture below.

Notably, the leaked Spider-Man: Far From Home pictures showed Gyllenhall and his stunt double but sans the fishbowl helmet. So, it remains to be seen whether or not Mysterio’s iconic look would make it in the film. but it is likely that the filmmakers decided not to include the helmet as a prop but rather hand over that part of the job to the VFX team.

Directed by Jon Watts and written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Far From Home will pick up after the events of Avengers 4. The film will see Holland’s Peter Parker head to a summer vacation to Europe along with his classmates.

Spider-Man: Far From Home also stars Zendaya as Michelle or MJ, Marisa Tomei as Aunt May, Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Jon Favreau, Martin Starr, Numan Acar, J.B. Smoove, Oli Hill, Remy Hii, and Michael Keaton.

The film is set to arrive in theaters on July 5, 2019.
