Earlier this week, fans got a new trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home which was, as expected, filled with major Avengers: Endgame spoilers. Luckily, the trailer begins with Tom Holland informing viewers to brace themselves for spoilers but suprisingly–it had more than what fans’ had anticipated.
The trailer seemingly confirms that the upcoming sequel takes on the concept of Multi-verse which seems to be the result of The Snap. And Mysterio played by Jake Gyllenhaal is the proof of its existence as the character is surprisingly being portrayed as a hero rather than a villain from another universe.
Tom Holland recently spoke about the relationship Peter Parker has with Mysterio with Comicbook.com during their set visit. The actor clearly states that Mysterio is not a villain unlike his counterpart in the comics. Moreover, he seems to be on the side of good guys and could be a comrade to the friendly neighborhood spider-man in the upcoming movie.
“He’s awesome, man,” Holland said. “Jake and I got on really well, and it’s interesting because when you hear the word Mysterio as a Spider-Man fan, you immediately think villain and that’s not the case in our film. He’s a new addition to this world of heroes, he’s my team-mate throughout the movie. It’s funny because Jake is such a great guy and we get on really well. It’s been fun fighting these crazy monsters with him.”
In more news related to Spider-Man: Far From Home, a new action figurine suggests that the movie might introduce a costume that has similarities to the Spider UK suit.
For those unaware, Spider UK is another version of Spidey from a parallel Earth. The suit was also included as a changeable costume in Spider-Man PS4 game. You can check it out below.
Spider-Man: Far From Home will hit theaters on July 2nd.
