Star Wars Episode 9 Ropes In Blade Runner 2049 Art Director

The latest addition to the Star Wars: Episode 9 team is Paul Inglis who has been hired as the lead supervising art director. Inglis has a lot of experience in the field of art direction, with credits including Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Blade Runner 2049, Game of Thrones, Skyfall, Prometheus, and Children of Men.

The veteran art director’s involvement with Star Wars: Episode 9 was confirmed by Omega Underground. This will reportedly be Inglis’ first Star Wars film. Fans can expect that with Inglis on board for Star Wars: Episode 9, it is highly likely that the next Star Wars film will look great.

The final film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy is being directed by J.J. Abrams. Abrams has previously directed Star Wars: The Force Awakens which is one of the highest grossing Star Wars film ever. The director recently revealed that Star Wars: Episode 9 production work will kick off in June 2018 at Pinewood Studios UK. Notably, Abrams is currently busy writing the film’s screenplay with co-writer Chris Terrio.

Star Wars: Episode 9’s direction task was initially handed over to Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow. But due to some creative differences with the studio, Trevorrow stepped down from the post in September last year. J.J. Abrams later replaced Trevorrow as the director.

Due to the production issues, Star Wars: Episode 9’s release date, which was previously scheduled for May 2019, has been postponed to December 20, 2019. Talking more about the film, Episode 9’s storyline will follow on from the end of 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

While nothing about the film’s star cast has been revealed yet, it is expected that the upcoming film will see the return of some of the fan-favorite characters who already featured in 2017’s Star Wars: The Last Jedi and 2015’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
