Star Wars: Episode IX Set Pictures Surface Online As John Boyega Lands In Jordan

Some new Star Wars: Episode IX set pictures have popped up online as actor John Boyega, who plays Finn in the Star Wars franchise, has arrived in Jordan to shoot for the next chapter of the saga. Boyega took to Instagram to confirm his arrival in Jordan. He shared a picture of a mosque on his Instagram Stories feed.

The Star Wars: Episode IX pictures, obtained by MakingStarWars.net, offer a look at some of the sets being constructed at Pinewood Studios in England. While the designs are still under construction, the report suggests that the photos could be in some way connected to the shoot in Jordan.

It is speculated that the sets could be connected to a mosque in Jordan, where filming is said to be taking place. Director J.J. Abrams usually shoots his scenes in order so these sets being constructed now while Boyega heads to Jordan could mean there’s some kind of connectivity between the locations.

Earlier this month, some set pictures taken from the desert of Wadi Rum, Jordan, featured some tents and some typical Star Wars scenery. It was expected that the set was created to depict Rey’s home planet, Jakku, which has a similar kind of setting in the film.

Actor Mark Hamill, who plays the fan-favorite Luke Skywalker, recently confirmed on Twitter that he will reprise the role of Luke once again in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode IX after disappearing into Force dust at the end of Episode VIII: The Last Jedi. Notably, Star Wars: Episode IX is the last movie in the new trilogy that started with Episode VII: The Force Awakens.

Well, it’s also confirmed that late Carrie Fisher will appear as General Leia Organa in the upcoming film through the use of previously unreleased footage shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Star Wars: Episode IX is currently set to arrive in theatres on December 19, 2019.
