Star Wars Fan Nick Meyer Constructs A 19-Foot Two-Story AT-AT For Halloween

Nick Meyer from Ohio took Halloween to the next level. Meyer constructed a two-story, 19-foot four-legged All Terrain Armored Transport (AT-AT) walker, a replica of Star Wars vehicle.

Elevator Mechanic Nick Meyer proved that he is the biggest fan of the Star Wars series by spending $1,500, dedicating his entire front lawn in Ohio, and countless work hours in building a huge AT-AT Star War walker, according to The Associated Press (via KHQ-TV). Meyer constructed the 19-foot two-story walker using wood, hard foam, and plastic barrels, as per Cleveland.com.

Meyer said that it was a weekend project. “We would tinker with it on the weekends,” said Meyer. “I just thought it would be neat to build a walker. It’s something unique,” added the Star Wars fan. Pointing to his huge AT-AT, built right in front of his home, Meyer said, “That is an imperial armored transporter from Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back.”

Building huge and massive structure is normal for the Meyer family to celebrate Halloween. They once built a pirate ship on their front lawn and even constructed a mausoleum another time. Last year, they built a copy of the cabin from the movie, Friday the 13th.

Nick’s wife Becky Meyer said that she absolutely loves his creation and encourages him. She further revealed that their neighbors too love them and take pictures standing next to these giant structures.

Star Wars have over the year introduced innumerable cool and futuristic vehicles. The Empire’s AT-AT from the film The Empire Strikes Back stormed Skywalker and his fellow Rebel troops’ base on the ice planet of Hoth. Apart from impressing the fans, the AT-AT also inspired many toy companies like Hasbro who created 3 3/4-inch action toy for small little children who were fans of the AT-AT.

Nick Meyer, who seems more of a bigger fan of Halloween than Star Wars has constructed this massive structure 37 years after the AT-AT’s introduction to the movie world, and that is an ode to this wonderful Star Wars vehicle.
