Star Wars: The Last Jedi is one of this year’s most anticipated sequels. The movie will show Rey’s further journey in the Star Wars universe as she learns how to control the force from the best there is.
The previous movie showed her meeting Luke Skywalker at a deserted planet and handing him the Skywalker family lightsaber. The way the movie ended, many speculated that this would be the beginning of a new chapter in Rey’s life.
Going by the teaser trailer, most speculations seem to be true as it does look like Rey will be taking on a much important role in the fictional universe. Now a new photo has released and it shows her in training.
Yahoo! Movies recently shared an exclusive picture of Daisy Ridley’s Rey from Star Wars: The Last Jedi. Screen Rant reported that she can be seen standing on a cliff with her staff in her hand. Her back is turned toward the camera and she is still on the deserted planet of Ahch-To, home of the first Jedi temple.
Going by the picture, it seems she meeting Skywalker will prove to be fruitful as somewhere in the movie, the veteran Jedi will take her under his wing and teach her to become the best Jedi there is.
Speculations are also hinting that his disappearance and her origin will also be revealed in this movie. Going by the events of the previous movie, Rey has to be related to someone incredibly powerful in the Star Wars universe.
In the previous movie titled Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Rey was a scavenger living on her own before she joined the fight against the evil First Order. She went up against the all-powerful Kylo Ren and to many fans’ surprise was able to defeat him easily.
Her abilities and powers led to many believing that she is the daughter of a very powerful character like Skywalker himself but nothing was revealed. With this movie looking to delve into her origin, it would be interesting to see who her parents are.
Apart from the training that she will be receiving in the sequel, there is one more thing that would be interesting to see. Some rumors have hinted that Kylo Ren and his allies will confront Rey and Skywalker on Ahch-To.
If that happens, Rey will have to put her training to test and hopefully, fans will get to see yet another glorious battle between her and Ren.
No official plot for the movie has been released yet but it would mark a new chapter in Rey, Finn, Poe and Skywalker’s life. Star Wars: The Last Jedi will release this year on Dec. 15. The next installment is expected to begin filming next year in January.
