Former ‘Daredevil’ Showrunner Steven DeKnight Shows Interest In Marvel Again

Netflix’s Former Daredevil showrunner Steven DeKnight expressed his interest for Marvel projects. Fans will remember his work for Daredevil’s pilot season that was a big success among the audience.

The American director and producer is currently working on his directorial debut for Pacific Rim: Uprising. Despite his busy schedule, it looks like he would love to work for Marvel again. He made his desire quite public when a fan posted a request to return for more Marvel projects.

DeKnight responded that he would love to do more Marvel projects if his schedule permits. “Would love to, schedule permitting,” DeKnight replied to fan’s plea on Twitter. Scroll down to view the complete post.

DeKnight had taken over showrunning duties for Netflix’s Daredevil from Drew Goddard. Later, however, DeKnight left to work on other projects and joined Transformers Cinematic Universe franchise’s writer’s room. He was soon replaced by Doug Petrie and Marco Ramirez.

DeKnight is also known for his work for Smallville, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Angel. He headed Starz popular series, Spartacus as well.

In 2016, it was announced that DeKnight will take over Guillermo Del Toro’s directorial duties for Pacific Rim: Uprising, but he will continue to fulfill the role of the producer. The movie starring John Boyega, Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Charlie Day, Burn Gorman, Rinko Kikuchi, Jing Tian and Adria Arjona is scheduled to release in March 2018.

Meanwhile, the recent update suggests that Vincent D’Onofrio will reprise his role as Wilson “Kingpin” Fisk for the upcoming Season 3. In his recent interview with Collider, D’Onofrio talked about the third season and the work of the new showrunner.

“It’s hard to top the first season, with Steven DeKnight’s writing, but Erik Oleson (the new showrunner) is a very good writer. I’ve shot some pretty cool scenes, so far. It’s different, but it’s very Fisk. It’s still very emotional. The character is evolving. His whole deal is based on emotion, so we’re taking him down that role further.”

The network is yet to reveal the release date for Daredevil Season 3. Keep visiting Pursue News for more updates and information.
