Stranger Things 4 Episode 4 has fans praising Sadie Sink’s Max ending scene against Vecna

Stranger Things 4 episode 4 has fanatics convinced it’s the finest cinematic experience from the Duffer Brother’s Netflix series by far and Sadie Sink’s performance as Max is the cherry on top of this Nightmare on Elm Street resembling a sinister storyline. The episode titled “Dear Billy” has our favorite Hawkins teenagers investigating Vecna’s origin, in hopes of finding a way to save Max from its curse.

Max is Vecna’s next target but her nightmare also reveals the creature’s connection to the murderous Victor Creel (Robert Englund). So Nancy (Natalie Dyers) and Robin’s (Maya Hawke) buddy-cop journey leads them on the path to a one-on-one with Creel but not before wooing their way into Pennhurst asylum after impressing Dr. Hatch (Ed Amatrudo), the asylum’s director. While Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Steve (Joe Keery) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) watch over Max, all hell breaks loose when Vecna strikes again.

With Episodes 1 and 2 claiming Chrissy and Fred after an exorcism-Esque floating phenomenon, many were worried if Max could also die since a similar floating scene was shown in Stranger Things 4 trailer. Episode 4 finally addressed the said sequence where Max finds herself in The Upside Down, but somewhere Vecna doesn’t want her to be. Though the creepy tentacle-wielding monster quickly overpowers her by manipulating guilt with Billy’s death, Nancy and Robin figure out music could be a way to break out of the Upside Down, eventually creating a way out for Max by making her listen to Kate Bush- Running Up That Hill. The scene left audiences wondering if Max could really survive the episode and were left in awe by her impressive acting. Readers can check out reactions below.

Besides Sink’s remarkable acting through this episode, Englund’s appearance as Victor Creel, the convicted serial killer was also an award-worthy performance that won over fans. On the other side in California, Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Will (Noah Schnapp), and Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) plan to make a move to save their family but quickly learn they are on the hunt when soldiers arrive guns blazing, shooting down Owens’ agents. Luckily, Argyle the pizza delivery buddy of Jonathan saves them.

Stranger Things 4 Vol. 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
