Stranger Things season 4 Vol. 2 episode 9 – fans react to Eddie Munson’s [spoiler] & Max in coma, hail Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo’s performance & more

Stranger Things season 4 Vol. 2 episode 9 has left fans in shreds {SPOILERS} with Eddie Munson’s (Joseph Quinn) shocking death in The Upside Down, throwing Max (Sadie Sink) in a coma with multiple bones shattered all the while Vecna managed to escape death and unleash the demonic Hellfire-Esque world on Hawkins. The feature-length tear-jerking season 4 finale is being showered with praises, particularly Caleb McLaughlin‘s Lucas, Gaten Matarazzo‘s Dustin & Sink’s acting has received heaps of acclaim. Here’s a brief dive into some of the best moments from Stranger Things 4’s final episode earning massive applause on social media.

Stranger Things 4 Chapter Nine titled “The Piggyback” evoked reactions on all fronts – from unpacking Will’s (Noah Schnapp) emotional turmoil with a little help from Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) to reuniting Joyce and Hopper for the Jopper fans and even Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) – the finale struck a chord with viewers for not just tying up the loose ends but also parading several sci-fi horror-filled surprises in the penultimate season finale, Aside from the cast members’ impeccable on-screen chemistry – the Duffer Brothers received much flattery for connecting all the dots.

Even the Russian prison packed with Demodogs finally tied into the main stakes of Stranger Things season 4 finale. Hopper (David Harbour), Joyce (Winona Ryder) and Murray (Brett Gelman) killing the Demogorgon weakened Vecna enough to save Max. And thanks to Antonov’s (Tom Wlaschiha) motivational speech to Yuri (Nikola Djuricko), everyone manages to escape the motherland in Katinka

McLaughlin certainly delivered a “gut-wrenching” performance during his fight against Jason though Eddie’s death is the highlight of the season. The metalhead freak going out with a bang playing Metallica’s Masters of Puppets is being compared to the likes of season 4 episode 4’s Kate Bush- Running Up That Hill cliffhanger. Readers can check out reactions below.

On the bright side, Steve Harrington (Joe Keery) fans are happy he managed to come out of Stranger Things 4 alive. But it’s unclear if Max would return and if so, to what capacity based on her physical condition. It seems even Eleven is unable to find her thoughts and she’s under the presumption Papa was right about her shortcomings in fighting against Henry. Even so, she arguably came in clutch throughout the mission, engaging in an astral fight against Henry and bringing Max back to life.

The only few comfort moments fans can find in Stranger Things season 4 Vol. 2 episode 9 is watching Robin find a potential spark with her crush Vickie (Amybeth McNulty), Huddling the Hellfire club back together and Argyle’s (Eduardo Franco) ‘no-questions asked’ policy in helping his friends. The wait for Stranger Things 5 is on and hopefully, it arrives sooner than the former.
