‘Suicide Squad 2’ Won’t Introduce Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam [Rumor]

Rumor has it that the highly anticipated Suicide Squad 2 might not feature Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam. Johnson has been officially cast in the role since 2008.

The DC anti-hero Black Adam was previously rumored to appear as the main antagonist in Shazam!, but it was later confirmed that the standalone wouldn’t feature Johnsons’ Black Adam and that the studio had other plans.

Another report pointed to Johnson making his DC debut in Suicide Squad 2. But now, rumors suggest Black Adam’s appearance in the film is not in pipeline anymore.

A Twitter user who goes by the name @DanielRPK stated that Black Adam will not be making an appearance in Suicide Squad 2.

From what I understand Black Adam isn’t gonna be in Suicide Squad 2,” the tweet read.

Notably, Daniel has a good track record of offering reliable information regarding Warner Bros.’ plans for DC. He teased Steven Spielberg’s addition and Ava DuVernay directing New Gods. Daniel’s tweet contradicts previous reports that claimed that the Suicide Squad 2’s supervillain team will come together to secure a new weapon of mass destruction which would be Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam.

If the idea to include Black Adam is no more being considered, fans can still remain hopeful for the standalone movie which is currently in works. The Rock also assured that its script is coming along great.

There are also rumors of Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke serving as the central antagonist of the upcoming Suicide Squad sequel. To recall, Deathstroke was introduced in a brief cameo during a post-credit scene in Justice League. This left fans hoping that they might get to see the villain in the DCEU again soon.

It has already been confirmed that Deathstroke standalone movie won’t be happening anytime soon. Fans are hopeful that the character might get some screen time in Suicide Squad 2. Readers are advised to take the information with a grain of salt until anything is official is announced.

Talking more about the film, David Bar Katz and Todd Stashwick are co-writing the script alongside director Gavin O’Connor. Suicide Squad 2 is set to feature the return of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot and Jared Leto as The Joker. The film is currently eyeing a 2020 release.
