‘Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay’ Trailer Is An Animated Blast, Confirms R Rating

The first trailer of Warner Bros. all-new animated feature Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay is out, and the results are mind blowing filled with action, gunfire, awesome one-liners, and more than one twists.

Even though DC’s live-action Suicide Squad did well at the box office, it didn’t go down too well with critics. In fact, there were mixed reaction from the public as well. While the DCEU is trying to redeem the all-villain team-up film in Suicide Squad 2, Warner Bros. Animation is all set to give its’ fans a fun, R-rated animated Suicide Squad movie that they can enjoy.

DC’s Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay will be available on Digital HD, Blu-ray, and DVD this spring. In the film, Amanda Waller has assembled an awesome team and sent out the Task Force X (Suicide Squad) to pursue Vandal Savage.

The Task Force X is a group of criminals who have been asked to fight other criminals. They have explosive charges in their heads; thereby making sure that if they do deviate from their assigned task, the explosives will go off since Amanda can remotely access them.

Amanda, the one in charge of the detonator, sends the squads on a dangerous mission in return for cutting down one year off their sentence if they survive. You can check out the exclusive video trailer, which debuted today on IGN below.

Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay has a different team as compared to the live-action Suicide Squad. However, the plot remains the same as the antagonist characters from DC Universe are given the opportunity to reduce their jail term by doing something good.

Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay seems like a whole lot of fun similar to Batman: Assault on Arkham (even though it’s routed as a Batman movie).

Here is the official synopsis:

Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay finds Amanda Waller’s top secret Task Force X,’ Deadshot, Bronze Tiger, Killer Frost, Captain Boomerang, Harley Quinn and Copperhead, on a mission to retrieve a mystical object so powerful that they’re willing to risk their own lives to steal it. But the Suicide Squad isn’t the only group of villains seeking to possess the object. The race is on for the golden prize … and, to stay alive, second place isn’t an option.
