The fan-favorite couple Alex Danvers (Chyler Leigh) and Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima) from Supergirl broke up recently leaving thousands of fans shocked and heartbroken. Not only fans but the series star Leigh is still not over it.
In a recent interview, Leigh talked about the “Sanvers” breakup and revealed that there was a lot more to the couple that never made it to air. Speaking at a panel at ClexaCon in Las Vegas, Leigh revealed that about a “three-quarters” of filmed scenes for Danvers and Sawyer were never aired.
“About three-quarters of the scenes that we filmed,” Leigh said as quoted by Comicbook. “There are a lot of very specific scenes that I wish that everybody could have seen because you work really damn hard in this business on a lot of stuff but specifically for this relationship that I wish could have been seen.”
Further, Leigh wished there were more kisses between the couple that broke up in Supergirl Season 3 episode titled “Damage.” This happened after Lima announced her departure from the series. Alex and Maggie, who were engaged, were forced to split when Alex released that their life plans involve different things. While Alex wanted kids, Maggie wanted other things in life.
“I wish that we would have had more kisses. There was a lot. I bet we probably could have filmed about an entire episode’s worth,” Leigh explained.
In the meantime, Supergirl Season 3 is finally returning next week. Melisa Benoist’s Kara/Supergirl will be back in action after a long hiatus.

As reported earlier, when Supergirl Season 3 resumes its run fans will be witnessing a Winn-centric episode 14 titled “Schott Through the Heart.” It will reveal Winn’s backstory, history with his parents and introduce his estranged mother played by Oscar-winning actress Laurie Metcalf. In addition, the episode is said to be a musical of sorts wherein the actors with amazing voices including Chyler Leigh will showcase their talent.
