Supergirl Season 3 Episode 14 – EP Teases Musical ‘Kara-oke’ & More

Supergirl Season 3 continues to be on hiatus but when it resumes its run fans will be witnessing a Winn-centric episode, an introduction of a new character played by Oscar-nominated Laurie Metcalf, and a musical episode.

In a recent interview with TV Line, Supergirl executive producer Jessica Queller talked about the upcoming episode 14 titled “Schott Through the Heart.” The EP revealed that it is one of her favorite episodes and it sheds light on Winn’s backstory and his parents.

It is “a showcase for Winn, about his father and his mother and that backstory,” Queller revealed. Besides Winn, Supergirl musical midseason premiere features a few scenes at a Karaoke bar wherein the talented cast members sing the songs of their heart.

Something we in the writer’s room like to call ‘Kara-oke’ — a karaoke bar scene that bookends the episode, with all of our amazing actors who happen to have amazing voices singing,” Queller added. The Karaoke scenes also feature Chyler Leigh’s Alex Danvers, who missed out on last year’s Supergirl/Flash musical.

Earlier, the CW released a promo video teasing the plot of the upcoming episode. As reported previously, Winn reunites with his estranged mother at his father Winslow Schott Sr.’s funeral. The small gathering including Winn, Kara, and others from DEO are taken by surprise when the coffin suddenly explodes. Winn’s reunion with his mother might put his life in danger. Later, it is discovered that toys from Winn Schott’s company may not be safe. What looks like a flying monkey toy is actually explosive bombs.

Meanwhile, synopsis suggests that Winn is forced to join hands with his mother to solve the new mystery and keep themselves safe. Elsewhere, Kara discovers important information about Worldkillers and Alex is suspicious of Myr’nn’s behavior.

When Winn’s (Jeremy Jordan) father dies, his estranged mother, Mary (guest star Laurie Metcalf), reappears trying to reconnect and to explain why she abandoned him all those years ago. Winn is too embittered from his rough childhood to forgive her but when a copycat Toyman attacks, the two must work together to stop him. Mon-El (Chris Wood) tells Kara (Melissa Benoist) something important about the Worldkillers, and Alex (Chyler Leigh) becomes suspicious of Myr’nn’s (guest star Carl Lumbly) recent behavior,” reads the official description of “Schott through the Heart.”

Supergirl Season 3 midseason premiere airs April 16 on The CW. Be sure to keep visiting Pursue News for more updates and information.
