Supergirl Season 3 is almost a month away from its finale and it will have a significant meaning for the Girl of Steel. In a recent interview, Supergirl star Melissa Benoist, who plays the titular role, revealed that the season ender will not only be concluding some major storylines but also involve some major moments of growth for the superheroine.
In the last-aired episode, fans saw the death of two Worldkillers Purity and Pestilence. With the two of them gone, Sam absorbed all of their power becoming even more powerful. It is certain that it will only get tougher for the Girl of Steel to take on Sam, also known as Reign.
It is speculated that the finale will feature the final battle between Kara and the Worldkiller Reign. Alongside, the episode will see Kara evolve into a mature woman. She will continue to grow through the season finale.
“With decisions she makes and how things transpire to wrap it up, she’s really taking ownership of herself,” Kara told Entertainment Weekly. “She’s maturing, which is what I’ve always wanted for her since season 1. I wanted to see a natural arc of a girl coming into womanhood, because she was almost naïve at the beginning, and just charging ahead not really knowing what she was doing. And now, I think she really does, and she is slowly chiseling out her place, wherever she wants to be.”
This week, Supergirl Season 3 returns with episode 18 titled “Shelter from the Storm.” It will focus on Supergirl’s plans to stop Reign, who is going after Ruby. Kara and Alex come together to stop Reign and keep Ruby safe. Meanwhile, Supergirl’s mother makes an appearance and will be revealing a secret to stopping Reign.
Supergirl Season 3 episode 18 airs May 14 and finale airs on June 18 on The CW. Stay tuned for more updates and information.
