Supergirl Season 3 is still a few episodes away from its season finale. Based on recent reports, it looks like Season 4 is already in works. When the show returns for its next installment it is expected to introduce several new faces.
As per Comicbook report, Supergirl Season 4 will be adding a Transgender character called “Nia Nal.” The casting call details describe her to be a transgender woman in her early 20s belonging to any ethnicity. In addition, she is said to be someone who resembles Catherine Grant, the CEO of CatCo Worldwide Media and White House Press Secretary.
“A confident, wunderkind of a fashionista. Once a political speechwriter, Nia is the newest addition to the CatCo investigative reporting team. With her, she brings sparkling wit and biting humor but under that banter-y, chic facade lays a soulful young woman who has much to offer the world,” reads the additional casting call details.
This is will be the first time any comic book television series will introduce a transgender character. Besides Nia, joining the cast will be a character who is simply called “Ben.” According to The Hashtag Show report, he is said to be a potential villain causing troubles in Supergirl Season 4. As per the description, a Caucasian actor in his 40s fits the role. The character is a failed and bitter businessman, who has incredible persuasion abilities. He is described as someone who resembles Michael Shannon.
Another character that is expected to be introduced sometime in the upcoming fourth season of the series is a woman named “Colonel Haley.” She will be befriending the Girl of Steel and will be seen by her side. The 40s woman will display her loyalty towards her country time and again. She is tough and hard to mess with. She is said to be filling in for Jenna Dewan’s Lucy Lane. Haley will act as a military connection for Supergirl and her team.
The most interesting casting call suggests the introduction of a character called “Chester Green.” A mid 20s-30s of British ethnicity will play the role of this dark character. He is described as someone with a heavy burden on his shoulders but with an immense charm that can change tough battle situations in his favor. He is said to be someone who “could bring a sword to a gun fight and yet end up victorious”.
The report suggests that Chester Green may be an original character. If not, his description reminds of an antihero turned supervillain Manchester Black. In the comic books, he first appears as the leader of a team of super-powered antiheroes called The Elite.
Fans must note that these character’s identities be revealed until CW releases more details about the Season 4 plot. These are mere speculations and fans should take the information with a grain of salt.
Meanwhile, Supergirl Season 3 is in the middle of the war with the remaining and the powerful Worldkiller Reign. Next week, Kara discovers that a part of Krypton survived. And Lena tries to keep Reign from making her next move.
