‘Ten Rings symbol..’: Ms. Marvel episode 3 has fans discussing if [spoiler] is Kree or Inhuman, Shang-Chi reference, desi wedding scene & more

Ms. Marvel episode 3 may have finally hinted at Kamala Khan’s (Iman Vellani) connection with Kree or Inhumans (maybe both?) but the bigger takeaway was finding the bangle inside a cave carved with the 10 rings symbol – connecting the series to Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings. The brief flashback of the British occupying India in 1942, desi wedding references and highlighting a few of the real-life struggles faced by the Muslim community and the light-hearted comedic tone, all mashed together in the latest episode’s narrative have earned much praise from viewers. Here’s a recap of the best moments from Ms. Marvel episode 3.

Kamala’s rescue from the Department of Damage Control by Kamran (Rish Shah) and his mother Najma (Nimra Bucha) in episode 2’s cliffhanger ending leads to more answers to her origin in episode 3. While Najma says that Kamala and the rest are Clandestines, better known as Djinn (no, not the tonic like Matt Lintz‘s Bruno said) – it’s too soon to jump to conclusions, especially since Najma and Aisha (Mehwish Hayat) were shown taking off the bangle from a severed blue arm. It’s already got fans putting on their tin-foil hat theorizing if it’s just Kree or an inhuman connection. Perhaps, Kamala’s powers could still go the comic route?

While Ms. Marvel might not exactly be an Asgardian, the show still connects to the Thor franchise through Erik Selvig’s (Stellan Skarsgård) research papers when Kamala quizzes Bruno about the possibility of interdimensional travel, specifically to the Noor dimension.

After the incident at Aamir’s Bollywood-Esque wedding, there’s no point in trusting Najma’s story word-for-word and luckily for Kamala, Aisha also saw the train in the dream-like dimension so more answers may lay in Karachi. All in all, the accurate depiction of tradition and customs, Nakia (Yasmeen Fletcher) confronting the “Agents” at Mosque and let’s not forget, A. R. Rahman’s Tere Bina song from 2007’s Guru inclusion, episode 3 is another home run for Bisha K. Ali and the rest of the Ms. Marvel cast & crew. Readers can check out reactions below.

The family dynamic between Kamala and Muneeba (Zenobia Shroff), Yusuf’s (Mohan Kapur) banter as well as wisdom for Aamir, and the cherry on top, playing the classic Don song ‘Yeh Mera Dil Yaar Ka Diwana’ by singer Asha Bhosle drew a lot of praise too.

Ms. Marvel episode 4 will stream next Wednesday, June 29 on Disney Plus.
