The Batman director Matt Reeves makes it a point to interact with fans on social media every now and then. Although fans might have quite a few questions related to Warner Bros. and DC’s upcoming Batman film, one of them asked Reeves about his favorite Batman comics on Twitter.
The War for the Planet of the Apes director revealed that Batman: Year One, Batman: The Long Halloween, Batman: Dark Victory, and Batman: Ego are among some of his favorites. He also praised the works of comic book artist Neal Adams and the original works by Batman co-creators Bob Kane and Bill Finger. He admitted that the list is endless.
Usually, when directors get on board a comic book movie project, the first step of research involves reading comics to get know the character more and perhaps even take inspirations from the comics for the big screen. Reeves list of favorite Batman comics may say a lot about the director’s vision for the movie as well.

Fans are expecting that Reeves’s choice of Batman comics might offer some clue about the upcoming Batman movie’s storyline. You can check out the Twitter posts below.
Ben Affleck, who portrayed the caped crusader in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Justice League is rumored to reprise his role as in The Batman. However, there are also reports that claim that Reeves is currently in search of a new actor to play Batman in his upcoming film. Actor Jake Gyllenhaal, one of the actors who was linked to the role, has already refuted the reports of him replacing Ben Affleck in The Batman.
Joe Manganiello, who first appeared as Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke in one of the Justice League post-credits scene, recently revealed that he was originally attached to play Deathstroke in Ben Affleck’s The Batman movie. He even had a meeting with Affleck for a possible appearance in The Batman film.
But, after Affleck distanced himself from the project and Matt Reeves took the helm of the film, he is unsure if Deathstroke will even appear in the upcoming film.
The Batman is rumored to head into production sometime in 2019.
