The Boys season 3 episode 3 shocks fans with disturbing scene of Deep eating [Spoilers]

The Boys season 3 episode 3 makes it clear Homelander (Antony Starr) is up to no good but watching the star-spangled hero force Deep (Chace Crawford) to eat Timothy the Octopus sets the bar higher than fans expected. If that wasn’t enough, the ending cliffhanger puts Starlight (Erin Moriarty) on Homelander’s crosshair after he announces he and the new co-captain are in love.

Warning: This article contains major spoilers to The Boys 3 Episode 3

Just when fans thought The Boys couldn’t get any more disturbing, season 3’s episode 3 delivered the killing blow with an unsettling scene of Deep eating his pet/lover Timothy the Octopus. The timing couldn’t come better with Deep just fantasying about receiving masturbation from the same tentacle buddy while he engaged in a sexual act with his wife. Additionally, Deep narrating the octopus’ feelings as he gulped it down with a few bites only made it more painful to watch, so much that it has even started a #Justicefortimothy movement. The Boys’ official Twitter account also tweeted the hashtag though many remain deeply disturbed as can be seen in reactions below.

The Boys’ creators haven’t shied in the past from addressing disturbing real-world conflicts or other Pop Culture incidents with vague references, similarly, episode 3 also included several such nods, one was Britney Spears’ reference through Annie’s early age. The first episode also made a nod to the Snyder cut. More are expected in the upcoming episodes, an earlier promo revealed a scene with A-train (Jessie Usher) doing a soft drink ad, referencing the controversial Kendall Jenner Pepsi ad.

While Homelander’s power at Vought seemed to slip away in the first episode, his speech on his live TV birthday celebration empowered his Q-Anon far-right followers to put him back on the map. Meanwhile, Butcher (Karl Urban), Mothers Milk (Laz Alonso), Hughie (Jack Quaid) and the others hit a dead end on their leads to finding Solider Boy (Jensen Ackles) though they learn an awful lot about team Payback. Can Stan Edgar (Giancarlo Esposito) help Starlight? or can the boys find their weapon to kill Homelander? we’ll have to wait till June 10 to find out when episode 4 streams on Prime Video.
