The Boys season 3 episode 8 fans react to Black Noir’s [spoiler], Queen Maeve & Solider Boy’s end, Ryan siding with Homelander, Mother’s Milk closure & more

The Boys season 3 episode 8 hits all the right notes, from pitting Soldier Boy (Jensen Ackles) against Homelander (Antony Starr), teaming up Queen Maeve with Starlight (Erin Moriarty), reuniting The Boys and landing an emotional blow with Black Noir’s (Nathan Mitchell) death. The finale has got fans buzzing on social media commending their favorite character arcs, particularly Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) closure though not all of them earned viewers’ praise, like Janine’s step-father (hopefully ex) Todd (Matthew Gorman). Take a look at the highlight of the best sequences, according to fans.

The sparks definitely flew for Starlight in The Boys season 3 episode 8, giving Annie her comic-accurate flight ability during the climatic all-out fight at Vought Tower. The dysfunctional team-up among Supes and Butcher’s motley crew unpacks more chaos when Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) sides with Homelander. And things don’t go as planned for anyone when Solider Boy shakes off his parental instincts and attempts to kill Homelander and Ryan. It even leads to an unlikely brief team-up between Butcher and Homelander, in an effort to shield Ryan.

The Father-Son parallels with Solider boy and Homelander, Butcher and Ryan and Homelander and Ryan in the midst of Kimiko aiding Frenchie on a suicide mission to get a dose of Novichok. Hughie (Jack Quaid) also redeems his power-hungry delusion when he decides to empower Starlight rather than depend on the Temp-V. In addition, M.M getting his revenge speech against Soldier Boy topped it off. The reactions below say it all.

The stand-out ‘Happily ever after’ ending goes to Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), who is considered dead after she manages to knock out Soldier Boy and he gets his own Captain America-Esque sleepover too. All in all, The Boys 3 finale ties up all loose ends but perhaps the most disturbing scene other than Homelander’s gut-wrenching punch to Black Noir was Ashley’s (Colby Minifie) hair loss. The only characters sidelined in the finale are The Deep (Chace Crawford) and A-Train (Jessie T. Usher) though the series could also be teasing the speedster’s redemption.

The Boys season 3 episode 8 also offers breadcrumbs on what The Boys 4 would explore, like dealing with Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit) becoming the VP candidate, Butcher’s declining health and Ryan falling to the dark side.
