With The Boys season 4 in active development, there’s a lot of anticipation to see the aftermath of season 3, especially Starlight’s (Erin Moriarty) involvement in fighting against Homelander (Antony Starr) and Vought. Fortunately, showrunner Eric Kripke offered some breadcrumbs from the set, like revealing a major decision by the superhero company to officially remove Annie January as the face of The Seven.
The Boys season 3 finale had several plot twists, from watching Ryan turn to the dark side, Queen Maeve’s death hoax to one-upping Starlight’s (Erin Moriarty) power set by granting her flight ability – the upcoming fourth season will especially need to address the fractured state of Team Seven and Homelander’s violent antics, like lasering innocent people to death. But it looks like Vought already has a damage control PR strategy, most likely from poor ol’ Ashley (Colby Minifie).
Kripke shared an image of the ceiling mural from Vought Tower though without Starlight’s image. The Boys series creator tweeted with the caption, “Who’s missing from the ceiling mural?” But for more context, the Vought International Twitter handle released a statement on their decision to drop her from the “famous mural” sighting the company’s commitment to “providing a safe and welcoming work environment for employees. For comparison, an earlier version of the mural is included, readers can check it out below (via: Comicbook).

At Vought, we believe in providing a safe and welcoming work environment for employees. That’s why we’ve removed Starlight from the famous mural at Vought Tower at a somewhat minimal cost to shareholders. Now important business can resume without a traitor looking on! pic.twitter.com/0pDusP1dpD

It seems like Vought’s shares took a nosedive after the Solider Boy incident. The above statement on Starlight’s exclusion more or less looks like appeasement for shareholders and you can’t blame the company after trying to keep business running as usual. Furthermore, this could just be the start of Homelander and his cult followers’ onslaught of attacks against Annie.
Season 4’s anticipation has doubled among fans with the recent casting announcement of The Walking Dead start Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Early speculations had some theorizing the actor could appear as Starlight’s father but it remains to be seen.
The Boys season 4 does not have a release date yet.
