Promotions for the Michael Chaves directed horror movie, The Curse Of La Llorona is starting to ramp up as Warner Bros. has released a new still teasing fans on what to expect. From the looks of it, The weeping woman from The Curse Of La Llorona movie might just be as scary and horrifying as Valak from the Conjuring Universe.
The new image shared by the studio to Pursue News shows the weeping woman terrifyingly lurking in the background. And another still shows the horrifying apparition approaching the two kids. You can check out the stills below.
Though the movie has no connection to the Conjuring Universe, it is also based on real-life reports of a classic folktale terror. Furthermore, James Wan is also part of the project as a producer but Chaves makes his directorial debut with the movie and will also be directing the third installment from The Conjuring franchise. The plot is as follows:
“Ignoring the eerie warning of a troubled mother suspected of child endangerment, a social worker and her own small kids are soon drawn into a frightening supernatural realm. Their only hope to survive La Llorona’s deadly wrath may be a disillusioned priest and the mysticism he practices to keep evil at bay, on the fringes where fear and faith collide.”
Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen plays the lead in the movie which also stars Roman Christou, Raymond Cruz, Linda Cardellini, Sean Patrick Thomas and Patricia Velasquez.
Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Walter Hamada, Michelle Morrissey and Michael Clear serve as executive producers. The film is was penned by Mikki Daughtry & Tobias Iaconis. The background is by Joseph Bishara who also composed for the “Annabelle” and “Conjuring” films. If you haven’t seen the teaser trailer yet, you can check it out below.
