The Exorcist Season 2 Finale Recreates One Of The Scariest Sequences Of The Franchise

Fox’s The Exorcist TV series aired its Season 2 finale last week. The horror drama recreated one of the franchise’s most iconic scenes in its final hour of the second season. The original sequence appeared in The Exorcist III movie released in the year 1990.

Pop culture news publication Comicbook was the first one to report about it. Scroll down to watch the scene that recreates one of the scariest scenes of The Exorcist franchise.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Jeremy Slater hinted at the sequence.

“There’s a moment from The Exorcist III that every horror fan knows and loves,” Slater said. “We’re looking into how we can get that moment on our show this year. It involves a hospital. It’s the single best jump scare in horror movie history aside from Ben Gardner’s head coming out of the boat in Jaws.”

This is not the first movie sequences that were adapted for the television series. In Season 1, the episode titled Chapter Six: Star of Morning featured the memorable “spider-walk scene.”

In the movie, Regan descends the staircase of her home backward, on her hands and feet. Meanwhile, the television series saw Casey Rance shock father Marcus as she crawls onto a wall and walks backward on her hands and feet.

The Exorcist is an American Anthology horror series based on William Peter Blatty novel of the same name. Season 2 stars Alfonso Herrera as Father Tomas Ortega, Ben Daniels as Father Marcus Keane, Hannah Kasulka as Casey Rance, Brianne Howey as Katherine Rance, and Kurt Egyiawan as Father Bennett. The Exorcist Season 3 is still unconfirmed. The network is yet to announce its renewal and official release date. however, there have been rumors that its possible for the series to be canceled due to the recent Disney-Fox deal.
