The Flash: Batman v Superman actor Jeremy Irons reportedly appears as Alfred Pennyworth

The Flash movie’s connection to the DC Extended Universe continues to pique Snyder fan’s curiosity with a new rumor claiming Justice League actor Jeremy Irons reportedly reprises as Alfred Pennyworth. The speedster flick starring Ezra Miller in the titular role explores a multiverse narrative, also starring is Ben Affleck’s Batman and Michael Keaton’s The Dark Knight.

Past production hurdles and Miller’s recent arrest controversies make it seem like The Flash movie has become a never-ending topic of interest in showbiz, particularly among DCEU/Snyder fans. Nevertheless, several insiders have assured the test screenings for Andy Muschietti directed DC film was positive. Still, the best takeaway from insiders is claiming Affleck’s Batman survives through the end, at least in the test screening cut. Now, one such insider, ViewerAnon (credible for leaking movie production information) revealed Irons’ involvement in The Flash. Readers can check it out below.

First appearing in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Irons last played as Batman’s butler in 2017’s Justice League though his future in the DCEU seemed bleak due to Affleck hanging up the cape. Additionally, another actor from the Batman universe,  J.K. Simmons’s Commissioner Gordon remains in the main continuity and will appear in HBO Max’s Batgirl movie.

The news has many fans cheering it as a sign of progress for restoring the Snyderverse moment. Some are even taking it as an indication that Affleck’s Batman iteration is still not over. Lately, several leaks related to The Flash plot surfaced on forums such as Reddit, 4chan etc. Though note, its authenticity is still up for discussion with insiders’ indicating most of the info as false. Nonetheless, some movie pundits believe the film’s narrative could change by the time of its theatrical release.

Notably, The Flash also introduces Sasha Calle as Kara Danvers a.k.a Supergirl. Interestingly, Michael Shannon’s General Zod and Antje Traue’s Faora reportedly appear in the movie as well.  The casting of these actors is apparently due to course correction to the Man of Steel’s Krypton arc. Though, recent reports suggest Supergirl’s arrival won’t necessarily erase the DCEU but rather puts the universe in a “Days of Future Past” type situation.

The Flash releases in theatres on June 23, 2023.
