From Clark to Kara, the consequences of time travel due to Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) saving his mother causes worlds to collide in The Flash movie, as teased in the latest 2-minute-plus trailer released during the Super Bowl. Supergirl (Sasha Calle) is facing off against General Zod (Michael Shannon), in a world where metahumans don’t exist and the speedster’s only hope is Michael Keaton‘s Batman coming out of retirement.

DC’s multiverse is officially in play and the Superbowl trailer for The Flash unpacks that chaos that emerges after Barry Allen runs through time, into a timeline where his Mother remains alive. But saving one life from the past may have put the entire world at risk. A universe where there is no Justice League to fight the Kryptonians invading Earth. Its only hope lies in a ragtag team of Barry Allens and Supergirl led by Batman.

As earlier teased in the tie-in comic, Barry Allen is shown donning the new speedster suit that he receives from Bruce Wayne. Speaking of who, there are multiple scenes of Ben Affleck‘s Batman fighting crime and using the bat vehicle. The Flying Fox from Zack Snyder’s Justice League is also showcased. But the best part is Bruce offering words of wisdom to Barry, “You could also destroy everything.” when he hints at his intention to change the past.

The Barry Allen from the non-metahuman universe shares no speedster abilities unlike the original but the Superbowl trailer hints at his transformation as well. A rope connected to a batarang shows Barry struck by lightning. The Batcave featuring multiple versions of the Dark Knight suit is also teased so perhaps the Burtonverse caped crusader might get to don other versions of tactical armor too, in fact, Batfleck is wearing a sleek new crime-fighting attire in an action chase shot. Readers can check it out below.

Meanwhile, Sasha Calle’s Kara Zor-El might not have had the same loving life as Superman did in Smallville. The Flash trailer shows Kara imprisoned on Earth, as confirmed in the official synopsis, and is rescued by Flash and the Dark Knight. There appears to be a strong influence of DC’s Flashpoint comics in the movie so fans are looking forward to witnessing Dark Flash and the exploration of the speed force.

The Flash arrives in theaters on June 16.
