The wait is over! Speedster Iris is coming to Central City. The Flash Season 4 Episode 16 debuts next week and introduces Iris as the speedster. The upcoming episode features some much anticipated moments focusing on Iris and her newly acquired speedster abilities.
The next chapter of the series is titled is aptly titled “Run, Iris Run” and it will see Iris take the charge of the Central City after Barry loses his powers to his lady love. The CW has released a promo video teasing the events of the upcoming segment.
Last month, fans got their first glimpse at Iris West donning her very own superhero suit. It was later unveiled that the actress would take on the mantle as the new purple speedster in the episode “Run, Iris Run”.
In the clip, Barry tells Iris that he lost his speed. Iris confesses that she is the one who acquired his powers. Next shot shows Iris taking the streets of Central City in her brand new speedster suit. The couple switches their role a day. Scroll down to watch the promo.
The network has also released a detailed synopsis revealing that the Team Flash will tackle the new bus meta, Matthew, also known as Melting Pot. He is the one who caused swapped Iris and Barry’s powers. While Barry takes the lead, Iris gets down to the streets of Central City to save the city and its people.
“IRIS SUITS UP – Team Flash confront a new bus meta, Matthew AKA Melting Pot (guest star Leonardo Nam), who has the ability to swap people’s DNA. During a battle with Team Flash, Matthew accidentally takes Barry’s (Grant Gustin) speed away and gives it to Iris (Candice Patton). Now, with a new threat unleashed on Central City, Barry must act as the team leader while Iris takes on the mantle of superhero speedster in order to defeat their new foe,” reads the official synopsis for “Run, Iris Run.”
The Flash Season 4 episode 16 features Grant Gustin as Barry, Candice Patton as Iris, and guest star Leonardo Nam as Melting Pot. “Run, Iris Run” airs March 13 on The CW.
