The Flash: Showrunner Talks Iris New Role At S.T.A.R Labs & Barry’s Reaction, Details

The Flash Season 4 premieres this October. The CW’s DCTV series will introduce Barry Allen to a new dynamic in the team. When he returns to Central City, he’ll be surprised to see Iris, his fiancé, is leading the team at S.T.A.R Labs.

After spending six months in the Speed Force, Barry will return to Earth when The Flash Season 4, episode 1 goes on air. He is expected to be surprised with the changes in the Team Flash.

In a recent interview with TV Line, The Flash showrunner Todd Helbing talked about the changes in the team and Barry’s reaction to it. According to Helbing, Barry will be thrilled to see the love of his life taking a charge and leading the entire team. However, it will take some time for him to get used to it.

“It’s a new dynamic that he’s walking into, so there’s a big learning curve,” Helbing said. “It’s not just Cisco and Wells behind the command station, it’s the woman he loves. It’s going to take a bit of time for him to get used to that.”

Meanwhile, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg shed light on the new dynamic and how will it impact Barry and Iris’ relationship. In an earlier interview, it was revealed that the couple will clash and end up going for couple’s therapy. The show will feature some funny moments as the couple clashes. Nonetheless, the new changes only strengthen their bond.

Kreisberg also spoke about the new changes more on EW,“Barry and Iris keep comically clashing inadvertently because she’s used to being in charge, and he’s used to being in charge, and so they wind up going to couples therapy to work through it.”

“The two of them with the therapist is some of the funniest stuff we have ever done on this show, but it also leads to a deepening of their relationship.”

The Flash Season 4 airs Oct. 10 on The CW. Stay tuned for more updates.
