The Joker Movie Director Is Bummed Out By Paparazzi Being All Over Set

Since the start of this week, fans have gotten a good dose of DC content thanks to set pictures and clips of Todd Philip’s Joker Movie which is currently under production in New York City. But some may argue that fans are getting to see too much of the movie and it is turning out to be spoilers for a lot.

Fans got their first look at Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck from the Joker Movie when Director Phillips shared a still of the actor in character. Since then, stills have continued to pour in.  But that hasn’t stopped Phillips’ from sharing images as well but he has a reason behind it.

The director is also bummed by the surge of set photos and video clips that have hit the internet. He addressed the issue when he shared a still of Zazie Beetz in character. While many were excited to see the still, a user on Instagram directed a question to him that fans have already gotten to see too much from the upcoming movie.  To which the director replied with his frustration towards paparazzi that have made it harder to keep things under wrap.

Here’s the issue. We have paparazzi all over our set, at every turn.” Phillips wrote on Instagram. “And it bums me out that they constantly put out their bad shots. So I figure, may as well put out some good ones.”

From the looks of it, fans are likely in for more set photos and clips as the project’s filming continue. Readers are advised to watch out for spoilers. The content below (stills and video) also serves information that is potential spoilers.

A still from the New York City subway shows the map of Gotham City that was on set. A closer look and fans can notice that the map is filled with Snyder and Nolan Easter Eggs. But don’t be quick to jump to conclusions that it could be a nod to director Zack Snyder. Instead, it is likely a reference to longtime DC Comics writer Scott Snyder whose known penning some of the best Batman stories.

You can check out all the images and video below. The Joker movie will hit theatres on October 4, 2019.
