The Marvels movie may be the stepping stone for the MCU to establish Young Avengers as well as to further explore the multiverse chaos arc which began in Doctor Strange 2‘s incursion of Earth-838 or at least that’s the indication from recent insider reports. Leaked info on Captain Marvel 2’s post-credits scene has revealed Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) will be on a mission to recruit the young superheroes starting with Hawkeye‘s Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld).
Considering Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 was a critical hit that performed swiftly at the box office ($827M worldwide as of this writing), Marvel Studios could potentially continue its streak with The Marvels movie too. Earlier this June, insider ViewerAnon revealed that the latest public test screenings have been positive.
While the sequel’s reshoots and behind-the-scenes drama between co-stars raised some concerns, the leaked post-credits scenes appear to have renewed many fans’ hope. WARNING: We are possibly entering major spoiler territory so readers are warned. Though are also advised to take it with a big grain of salt.
According to Scooper CWGST (known for revealing credible reports), one of Captain Marvel 2’s post-credits scenes shows Kamala using a tablet to track down Kate Bishop. Ms. Marvel takes it from Nick Fury – who used it for “keeping tabs on all the heroes currently active.”
Kate is shocked to find Kamala Khan showing up at her residence. She then tells Kate about the events of The Marvels and “how the Young Heroes need to team up”. Ms. Marvel then quizzes Kate, “Did you know Scott Lang has a daughter?” – indicating it is the start of a setup for Young Avengers.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has already showcased Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) using the Pym particle. In addition, her knowledge of the Quantum Realm may make her another necessary addition to fighting the unknown threat, especially since Kamala’s need to recruit young heroes by the end does not signal good news for Carol Danvers nor Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch).
Speaking of whom, other industry insiders revealed the second post-credits scene shows Monica Rambeau waking up in a hospital, similar to her opening from WandaVision. Monica meets Maria Rambeau, her mother but she is the Captain Marvel of this universe. But Captain Marvel 2 is still not locked and the final cut is still subject to changes so readers are cautioned.
The Marvels will arrive in theaters on November 10, 2023.
