Earlier in June, it came to fans’ notice that the fourth installment from the blockbuster sci-fi franchise, The Matrix 4 had resumed filming in Berlin. Images from TMZ confirmed that the main cast Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss were on set, after the long abrupt limbo due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now the main star has finally addressed the project’s production.
Reeves, whose currently promoting Bill and Ted 3 spoke to Associated Press in a virtual interview. The actor was eventually quizzed about the Matrix 4 project as well and confirmed that the cast & crew are indeed filming following all safety protocols.

“It’s great. It’s an honor to be working. I’m in Berlin, you can hear the sirens,” Reeves smiled. “You know, there’s some really thoughtful, effective protocols in place. The rhythm of filmmaking has been not really impacted or interrupted.” You can check out the video below.
“You know, I think everyone loves the project. If you’re ever going to get into any kind of situation that needs to be figured out or ‘How do we do this?’ Show business people are the best,” the star added. “We’re scrappy, we know how to get stuff done. We’re inventive, we think on our feet. That kind of kindred spirit coming together. It goes back to ‘Let’s put on a show! We’ve got some props, we’ve got some things, we’re going to run it!’ That spirit is definitely alive and well on The Matrix.”
The hype and sheer excitement for The Matrix 4 continue to grow as the original team associated with the franchise are slowly getting on board after one another. Lana Wachowski has penned the script and is also directing the project.
In other news, Reeves fans waiting for the release of Bill and Ted 3 can watch it on-demand on August 23 and the film will also be releasing in select U.S. theaters.
The Matrix is scheduled to hit theatres on April 1 , 2022.
