Marvel’s The Punisher Season 2 will not return until 2019. Meanwhile, the filming of the second season of the series is in the process and a few behind-the-scenes clips that continue to pop up time and again is keeping us updated with what’s to come.
A recently released brief clip of 11-seconds teases Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle in his The Punisher avatar. The clip gives a glimpse at an action sequence that takes place in a crowded public place. Bernthal is seen chasing someone with a gun in his hand. However, who is he chasing remains a mystery. The video clip was posted by Twitter account TWD_HQ. Scroll down to watch the post.
Meanwhile, more behind-the-scenes clips suggest villain Jigsaw, also known as Billy Russo, will return in The Punisher Season 2. The trouble for Frank Castle is far from over and Jigsaw will return to make matters worse for the vigilante.
Another behind-the-cameras video, released two days ago on Instagram account the_marvelous_guy, made the big revelation. The video shows Punisher in a fight with Jigsaw and his men.
Considering the sequence of events of The Punisher Season 1 finale, Billy Russo’s return is not less than a surprise. During the last-aired episode “Memento Mori” Frank Castle engages in a deadly fight with Russo. Though he chooses not to kill him, he leaves him with a smashed face and leaving him to live with disfigurements for the rest of his life. The said behind-the-scenes video shows Russo removing his mask while in a fight with Castle. Russo is definitely back for revenge and even the scores.
The Punisher Season 2 stars Jon Bernthal in the titular role, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Amber Rose Revah as Dina Madani, Daniel Webber as Lewis Wilson, Paul Schulze as William Rawlings, Jason R. Moore as Curtis Houle, and Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page. Meanwhile, the show will be introducing a few new characters such as Annette O’Toole’s Eliza Schultz, Corbin Bernsen as Anderson Schultz, Josh Stewart as John Pilgrim, and Giorgia Whigham as Amy Bendix.
The show is yet to get a release date. However, speculations suggest it won’t return before 2019.
