Frank Castle’s story is not yet over. The crime-fighting vigilante will be returning soon with more action. The Punisher Season 2 is currently in the works and the Marvel series will soon be beginning the production of new episodes.
According to the latest report by Spoiler TV, the production for the season 2 of The Punisher is scheduled to begin on Feb. 26. Steve Lightfoot will return to direct the show for its upcoming season and wrap up the production on July 20.
The Punisher is Netflix’s original series based on Marvel comics with the same name. It premiered in November 2017 and released thirteen episodes. Soon after the success of the first season, Netflix announced the renewal of the series and confirmed Season 2.
Last year, a post on The Punisher’s official Twitter account announced the second season is coming. The network released a clip making the big announcement.
“Time to reload. #ThePunisher Season 2 is coming,” read the caption of the post.
There is not much information available about the next season. An earlier report did give some details regarding the new characters that are to be introduced in the upcoming season. However, once the production begins, fans can expect to hear more about it. Meanwhile, several familiar faces are expected to return.
“But I’m very excited to do so. I think we left both Frank and Billy in places where there are so many ways to jump off from if that second season comes. We can do anything with them, in truth,” Lightfoot told Entertainment Weekly in an interview last year.
The Punisher stars Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/ Punisher, Ebon Moss-Bachrach as David Lieberman/Micro, Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, Daniel Weber as Lewis Wilson, Paul Schulze as William Rawlins, Michael Nathanson as Sam Stein, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page and more. The network is yet to announce an official release date for season 2, but it is expected to return no sooner than 2019.
