The Suicide Squad: James Gunn reveals BTS look of King Shark in bodysuit sans CGI

The Suicide Squad home entertainment version, specifically the Blu-ray release offered a sleeve of special features via deleted & extended scenes, gag reel, commentary by director James Gunn & more. But DC fans’ excitement for the villain ensemble flick hasn’t died down and Gunn regularly sharing never before seen BTS from the DCEU movie has continued to keep the film on the top Blu-Ray sales chart.

A new behind-the-scenes image from The Suicide Squad offers King Shark in all his glory, sans CGI. The still shows Steve Agee wearing his blue-ish Kingpin bodysuit, prepped up to film a scene on the Jotunheim set where the final act was shot. Readers can check it out below.

In an earlier interview, Agee discussed playing King Shark’s body movements where he explained what his day-to-day job performing the DC role was like on the set of The Suicide Squad.

“I’m doing what Sean Gunn did for Rocket, is doing the motion capture,” Agee explained speaking to Brandon Davis from Comicbook. “But it’s really easy. I come in and we run the scene with me and my weird suit and headpiece, and then I get to go sit down, and they keep redoing the same where they’re going to digitally put-”

Gunn has never shied away from sharing a thing or two from the sets of his film. Furthermore, the director has always given a voice to the actors performing on-set movements of CGI characters. In the past, the director has shared images from Guardians of the Galaxy films of Sean Gunn playing Rocket Raccoon wearing a green screen-styled bodysuit.

It’s nearly been a month since The Suicide Squad was made available for purchase on 4K, Blu-ray and DVD. All three versions contain special features but the entire special content can be found on Blu-ray. The DC film was made available for Digital Download on 25th October 2021 and 4K, Blu-ray and DVD from 8th November 2021.
