The Suicide Squad theatrical trailer reveals Harley Quinn’s transformation & hate for Joker

A brand new trailer unexpectedly dropped for The Suicide Squad, with more exciting new footage meant to be shown for the theatrical audience. Titled, ‘Rebellion’, the new 2-minute promotional material starts off with a spotlight on Harley Quinn’s transformation and its certainly got fans thumped to see the character’s growth.

“From the horribly beautiful mind of James Gunn’s” The Suicide Squad has been the talk of the town ever since the Red Band trailer dropped. But the new theatrical version seems to won over fans better with teasing new glimpses of John Cena’s Peacemaker, David Dastmaichian’s Polka-Dot Man and many more in action, showing off their weird special abilities.

Harley Quinn’s new jacket and old jacket comparison trends on Twitter after new The Suicide Squad trailer

Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn has mainly been in the spotlight, with the trailer’s opening sequence showing her in the attire with the jacket rocking a rather motivational quote, “Live Fast, Die clown”. You can check it in the video below.

The tagline has caught many fans’ eyes and also Harley’s growth since the character’s first appearance in David Ayer’s Suicide Squad. In the 2016 DC film, The mistress of Mayhem was shown rocking a jacket which stated her as, “Property of Joker”. And clearly, the upcoming film will show her on a new own path, away from the shadow of Joker.

Nathan Fillion’s Arm-Fall-off-boy’s abilities revealed

Recently, Jared Leto’s Joker made another appearance in Zack Snyder’s Justice League and there’s even a moment that includes Harley Quinn’s reference. However, the scene isn’t part of the plot and unfortunately, neither is the director’s cut canon.

In Birds of Prey, Harley overcomes her toxic attachment to the clown prince of crime and finds her own arc and team. Although we see her character going on a rage rant throughout, it looks like she still hasn’t gotten over her anger for the Joker. Hopefully, there are even a few digs aimed at the clown.

The Suicide Squad lands in theatres on August 6.
