AMC’s The Walking Dead is one of the most popular shows on television. Fans know that great shows don’t come easy and there is a lot of hard work that goes into the making of one. Recently, Goodbye Kansas Studios, a VFX team for The Walking Dead, released a behind-the-scenes video giving a glimpse at how they create the action scenes.
The video was uploaded on Vimeo. It shows scenes from The Walking Dead Season 8 premiere, also the 100th episode of the series. The clip shows how they created the epic scene wherein Negan’s Sanctuary is attacked by a horde of Walkers.
Fans will remember that The Walking Dead Season 8 opened with an episode titled “Mercy.” It shows Rick, Maggie and Ezekiel with their respective communities open their first big attack on Negan. The groups launched an attack on Sanctuary, opening gates for a huge horde of walkers. The clip shows Negan trying to escape and save his life. In an attempt to save his life, he ends up trapped in a trailer with Father Gabriel. Scroll down to watch the video.
Goodbye Kansas has been creating award-winning visual effects and gory scenes for The Walking Dead since Season 6. The VFX team headed by Staffan Linder received an Emmy Nomination for their work on the episode titled “No Way Out.” Besides Goodbye Kansas, Stargate and Fido are some other VFX studios that have worked with Greg Nicotero and Scott M. Gimple to create some memorable scenes for the fan-favorite show.
As previously reported, The Walking Dead Season 8 is currently on winter hiatus and will not return until next year. The first half of the eighth season closed with an episode titled “How It’s Gotta Be” which might be the last of one of the most loved characters, Carl Grimes. He makes a sad confession of being bitten by a zombie while escorting Siddiq to Alexandria.
The Walking Dead Season 8 starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick, Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Lauren Cohan as Maggie, Chandler Riggs as Carl, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan is expected to return sometime in February 2018. Keep visiting Pursue News for more updates.
