The Walking Dead Season 8: Maggie’s No Sign of Pregnancy Explained By Show’s Rep

The Walking Dead character Maggie (Lauren Cohan) made the big announcement of her baby in Season 6 premiered in the year 2015. More than two years after the revelation the character still shows no sign of pregnancy and have aroused several questions from the fans on the lack of Maggie’s baby bump.

Recently, a rep for the show finally addressed the big question and revealed why Maggie doesn’t have a baby bump yet.

The comic has never specified exact time and the show does not either,” the rep told NY Daily News.

In their previous interview sessions, Cohan and other cast members have often questioned Maggie’s pregnancy’s progress. They explained that events have taken place in a short period of time and it might be a matter of just a few weeks. It is said that events of an entire season may have occurred in a span of a few weeks.

Fans have often compared Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) daughter Judith’s growth with Maggie’s pregnancy. As per the report, in a recent tweet, a fan pointed out how Judith already looks like a pre-schooler while Maggie still doesn’t have a growing baby bump.

Judith was a baby at the end of last season, now she looks like a preschooler! It indicates time going by for Judith, but not Maggie,” read the post by Twitter account user rainspromise.

That would be dissecting time,” explained The Walking Dead rep, “and not something the show has done.”

As previously revealed, the showrunner Scott M. Gimple said that it is too early to expect Maggie giving birth to her baby yet. According to executive producer Denise Huth, the events of Season 7 spread over the period of 19 days. This means it hasn’t been too long since Maggie found out about her pregnancy and Glenn’s death.

It’s quite early in, as it was in the book,” Gimple told Entertainment Weekly at the 2017’s Blu-ray release. Also, it was revealed that The Walking Dead Season 8 picks up “just a few days after” the events of Season 7 finale.

The Walking Dead Season 8 airs Sundays on AMC. Season 9 is expected to begin filming this May. Be sure to keep visiting Pursue News for more details and updates.
