The Walking Dead Season 9 will not be an easy one to get through. Fans must prepare themselves for the toughest goodbye yet. After eight seasons, Rick Grimes, the AMC series’ leading man Andrew Lincoln will be exiting the show in the middle of the season.
Collider exclusively reported the shocking news first, revealing that Andrew’s departure will happen quite early in the ninth season, much before the finale. It is said that he will be exiting the series after six episodes of The Walking Dead Season 9.
Lincoln’s fan-favorite character has been leading the group of survivors as their leader in search of a safe haven. His departure would leave the group with a huge vacuum. The news is that the writers are looking to Norman Reedus to fill the void after Lincoln’s departure.
According to the reports, the network has already offered a deal to the actor, who plays the role of iconic Daryl Dixon, to take the lead in the show. Unfortunately, there is no news on how Rick Grimes departure will play out. Following Chandler Riggs’ Carl Grimes death, the show definitely does not want to do the same to Rick Grimes. Fans are still reeling from Carl Grimes painful death and have often expressed their anger on the same.
Meanwhile, Twitter is exploding with fans’ reaction over the shocking news of Rick Grimes’ departure. Read below a few responses to the news and find out how fans are feeling about Lincoln’s exit from the series.
Following the end of All Out War storyline and defeat of Negan, the show will now feature a start of the new story and the group’s new journey.
“This is sort of the end of a very long chapter of The Walking Dead,” Gimple told Deadline. “And I don’t mean the past couple years, I mean the first eight years of the show, and that this ends a period of the story that will not be replicated. It is going to turn into, in some ways, a very different show.”
Filming of The Walking Dead Season 9 reportedly began this month. If so, fans can expect more news as production goes on.
The Walking Dead Season 9 premieres on AMC in October. Be sure to keep visiting Pursue News for more updates and information.

I love this show SO much. But Andrew Lincoln is THE show. We have been following him since the very first episode. I can’t imagine the show without Rick Grimes.
