Thor: Love and Thunder is out in India and compliments are high for Taika Waititi’s humor-filled cosmic adventure but veteran MCU fans may have also noticed the much-anticipated Chris Hemsworth butt scene was nowhere to be seen in the movie. The nude shot was fully removed though the director assured the sequence would be shown in all its glory.
Since Thor: Love and Thunder trailer revealed the Zeus (Russell Crowe) flick scene, there’s been much talk about if the movie would show Thor’s naked back unlike the blurred butt shown in the promos. The buzz centered around Hemsworth’s nudity naturally prompted more curiosity and Waititi addressed his desire to include the naked shot, particularly to compliment Chris’s hard work in building an aesthetic Norse god physique.
“In the movie, it’s not pixelated, though,” Waititi said during The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. “You get the full Hems’ Worth. The full worthiness!” “With Chris, he’s worked so hard on that,” Waititi continues. “It’s so many squats! It’d be depriving humanity if I didn’t show that.”
Unfortunately, PursueNews can confirm the shot was framed out to only feature Hemsworth’s torso in India. In addition, Zeus saying “orgy” was also muted. However, the non-pixelated version was shown in other regions, as can be seen below.

It’s unclear if Disney India self-censored the frame or if CBFC asked for its removal. Still, it is possible the move could be due to the film’s main target audience being PG-13. Though recently, Prime Video’s The Boys season 3 also made news after the OTT censored an orgy fest in episode 6’s Herogasm and another cow scene in episode 7 on India’s streaming service.
Thor: Love and Thunder has gotten the fandom vocal since its Rotten Tomatoes score was unveiled but box office projections reveal a $300 million global opening for the fourth installment. The feature also stars Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster/Mighty Thor and Christian Bale as Gorr.
