Thor: Love and Thunder gets early release date in India & Marvel fans are happy

Thor: Love and Thunder is just a month away from its premiere and it will be landing a little earlier in India. The Chris Hemsworth starring Marvel flick is confirmed to hit cinema a day before its official release date, July 7.

Marvel Studios had the perfect gift for Indian fans on THORSDAY revealing Thor: Love and Thunder would release a day earlier in the country, July 7 whereas the fourth installment arrives on July 8 in the US and other regions. The announcement came with a character poster of Thor wielding the Stormbreaker. Readers can check it out below.

Marvel is known for releasing its blockbusters earlier in selected regions, a strategy that was also used for Avengers: Endgame which ended up in the studios’ favor, box office-wise. Thor: Ragnarok was also released 10 days earlier in the UK. but it drew a lot of criticism from US fans as spoilers surfaced faster on social media.

With Thor 4 landing on July 7th, fans are advised to stay clear of social media, especially Twitter, or mute words via filters. For Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Marvel Studios ended up disabling replies/tweets to their red carpet premiere posts and also requested fans not to spoil the movie. Meanwhile, fans in India are excited to experience Love and Thunder earlier, as can be seen in the reactions below.

Expectations are high for the fourth offering from the Thor franchise as Natalie Portman takes the reign as Mighty Thor after becoming worthy of wielding Mjolnir. It’s still unclear how she comes across the hammer or how it managed to peace itself together after Hela destroyed it. Though one shot from the trailer shows Mjolnir moving apart in pieces as shards to attack enemies.

Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Love and Thunder also stars Natalie Portman as Jane Foster as well as Mighty Thor wielding Mjolnir, Tessa Thompson as King Valkyrie, Christain Bale as Gorr the God Butcher and Russell Crowe as Zeus.
