‘Thor: Ragnarok’ Character Korg & Miek Will Return In MCU, Details

Thor: Ragnarok is all set to hit the theaters early next month. Meanwhile, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige revealed in an interview that Marvel has greater plans for two of the new characters Kork and Miek (other two gladiators that Hulk befriends).

In an interview with Fandango, Feige expressed his joy in getting acceptance from fans for two new characters introduced in Thor: Ragnarok – Korg, the rock creature Korg and the Miek, the insectoid warrior. Speaking about the inclusion of the two Sakaar natives once yet again in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in future, Feige said, “We have plans for Korg and Miek. When and where we’ll have to wait and see, but we, like the audience now that they’ve seen them, can’t get enough.”

Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi who also essays the role of Korg in Thor: Ragnarok said that they are having talks about featuring Kork and Miek in a Marvel One-Shots short: “We were talking about doing a little spin-off. Like one of these One-Shot short films with Korg and Miek… like [them] just going shopping and things,” said Watiti.

Feige explained why in spite of fan’s love and acceptance, the studio stopped producing One-Shot shorts that they were including on a film’s Blu-ray release. “The truth is we’re a studio that has just recently gone from producing two movies a year to three movies a year, and we’re very comfortable now with the arrangement we have making three movies a year. That doesn’t leave a whole lot of room for other things like one-shots,” said Feige.

However, not to disappoint the fans, Feige added that there are other things that can be done. “That being said, the “Team Thor” short that Taika did with Darryl and Thor were great fun, and are quite doable, and in some parts helped redefine Thor into what he’s become in “Ragnarok” in a fun way. So there might be opportunities for more things like that.”

Thor: Ragnarok – The Story
Thor 3, titled Thor: Ragnarok is a sequel and resumes exactly where we had left – Thor is in Asgard, looking after his homeworld. However, nothing can prevent the destruction of Asgard as Hela, the Goddess of Death played by Cate Blanchett takes over Asgard and also destroys Mjolnir, Thor’s hammer. Thor is captured and brought to fight in gladiatorial combat. If Thor wants to save Asgard and prevent Ragnarok, the end of the world, he can recruit The Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), his brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston), and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson).

Thor: Ragnarok, which will release in theaters on November 3, 2017 stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk, , Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Karl Urban as Skurge, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
