Thor: Ragnarok is this year’s final offering from Marvel Studios. After Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming rocked the box office, it is now Thor’s turn to shine.
On the occasion of Jack Kirby’s 100th birthday, a new photo of Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie and Rachel House’s Topaz has been released.
The new picture was exclusively released by Yahoo! Movies. Going by the picture, it seems like Valkyrie and the rest are looking at something or rather someone. The picture could also be from a moment when Thor gets captured on Sakaar and is brought to face the Grandmaster.
Screen Rant reported that out of the three there might be a rift between Thompson’s Valkyrie and House’s Topaz. The outlet is describing Topaz as the Grandmaster’s bodyguard and regards him as someone who has all the power in the universe. It seems Valkyrie does not share that opinion, which will lead to a possible conflict between the two.
Earlier, the studio also shared glimpses of scenes from the film in the form of GIFs during Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor’s fight. The promos dropped some hints on Loki’s relationship with Thor.
Apart from the picture, a new logo for the movie has also been released. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige shared the logo on his Twitter account and wrote a small tribute to the late comic book icon Jack Kirby.
Kirby is known to have co-created multiple Marvel characters along with Stan Lee. Calling Kirby eternal, Feige mentioned that the MCU would not exist without him.
Thor: Ragnarok will see Thor going up against the all-powerful Hela. Having lost his mighty hammer Mjolnir and being enslaved on Sakaar, Thor will meet his old Avengers teammate The Hulk as the two set out on an intergalactic journey and hope to save Asgard from complete destruction.
Thor: Ragnarok will release this year on Nov. 3.
