Thor: Ragnarok’s Tessa Thompson Requests Marvel for An All-Female Superhero Team

Tessa Thompson who essays the role of Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok wants Marvel to make an all-female superhero film that features her and all other female heroes of MCU.

During a press conference to promote Thor: Ragnarok, Tessa Thompson was asked if Valkyrie would have a solo movie, the actress replied that she along with several other MCU heroines had approached Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige with the request of coming up with a female superhero team.

At this point, Feige laughed and said that he was intimidated when he was “tapped on the shoulder and turn around to find a gang of the MCU’s female powerhouses, all standing and waiting to hear what you have to say”. Thomson went on to mention about the Lady Liberators (members of a fictional superhero team that appeared in Marvel comic books) as an inspiration. Feige seemed impressed by the reference but did not confirm or deny any such future projects.

It would be a good move on the part of Marvel to come up with a female superhero film since all the superhero female characters such as Valkyrie, Mantis, Gamora, Wasp, Captain Marvel, Black Widow, and Scarlet Witch among others are popular for their traits and teaming them up would make the film very special.

The success of Wonder Woman is noteworthy. Captain Marvel is another solo female superhero film that the studio is looking forward to. While Feige may not have confirmed plans for an all-female superhero team-up, it doesn’t remove the possibility of it happening in the future.

Thor: Ragnarok is all set to hit the big screens on November 3, 2017. Earlier yesterday, world premiere of Thor: Ragnarok took place at Los Angeles/

Thor 3 is directed by Taika Waititi, and the star cast includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk, and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
