To The Extreme: Vanilla Ice Biopic Reportedly In Development Starring Dave Franco

It looks like 2019 could also present interesting biopic titles for moviegoers. A new report has revealed that a biopic for Rapper Vanilla Ice is in development and the project is titled ‘To the Extreme’.

According to a recent listings report from Production Weekly, Actor Dave Franco has been cast to play as Vanilla Ice in the biopic. No other actors are attached to the project yet.

James Franco is also on board as a producer with Chris Goodwin and Phil Van to pen the script. The project does not have a director attached yet and is not in active development. From the looks of it, the writers could still be in the process of penning the script.

The biopic seems to be named after the Rapper’s major label debut studio album which was released in 1989 and went on to sell 15 million copies worldwide with over 7 million copies being sold in the United States. The album was also on the top of the Billboard 200 for over 16 weeks and was one of the best selling hip-hop albums.

Ramona Films and Endeavor Content are the two production companies that are developing the Vanilla Ice biopic project.

The project still seems to be in the early development stage. But having Franco attached as the lead seems to be good news that the project is advancing forward and could possibly result in more casting announcements.

The project’s possible plot details from the listings is as follows:

From a high school dropout selling used cars in Dallas to having the first hip-hop single to top the Billboard charts with Ice Ice Baby, a young Vanilla Ice struggles with stardom, extortion attempts, and selling out as he makes music history
