A lot of MCU characters died in the hands of Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. Included in the list was Thor’s brother Loki, played by actor Tom Hiddleston. As Avengers 4 is expected to bring back lost Marvel characters from the dead, fans are eager to know if Loki will also make a return.
While addressing a panel at ACE Comic Con in Chicago last Sunday, Tom Hiddleston revealed that the Avengers franchise has grown to be quite big and popular today, but, it was not the same when the makers started with the first Avengers film. The actor revealed that he was quite terrified of being a part of the first Avengers film as it was not sure if the film would turn successful.
“I remember being terrified making the first Avengers film because it wasn’t a given that it was going to work,” Hiddleston said. “It only worked based on how hard we worked to make it work if that makes any sense.”
As Loki’s character has faked his death before, it remains a big mystery if he will resurrect in the upcoming film along with other Marvel superheroes.
When asked about Loki’s death, Hiddleston said that he often comes across fans who come up with their own theories about Loki’s possible resurrection in Avengers 4.
“Listen, I’ve heard some amazing theories about this,” the Marvel actor said. “I was in a park in London a couple of weeks ago, and some guys came and said hi, and they asked me the same question. They said, ‘Hey, listen, we need an answer to this question. All the other times Loki’s died’ — there’s been a few — ‘he stabs with his right hand. And now he’s stabbing with his left hand.’ I was like, ‘That’s incredible attention to detail.’”
When his co-star Elizabeth Olsen asked him if he was aware of his character’s future, Hiddleston admitted he wasn’t.
“Your guess is as good as mine,” he told Olsen.
Well, we will have to wait longer to know what future the Russo brothers have in store for Loki as Avengers 4 is set to release in theatres on May 3.
