“Top tier marketing”: MCU fans praise Ms. Marvel for ‘Welcome to New Jersey’ promo, character posters’ for Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan & more

It’s raining Ms. Marvel in the US as promotions for Disney Plus’ upcoming series ramps up with one particular billboard featuring Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan, drawing more eyes. Marvel Studios Marketing also released new character posters introducing the rest of the cast namely Nakia (Yasmeen Fletcher), Bruno (Matt Lintz), Kamran (Rish Shah), Zoe (Laurel Marsden), Amir (Saagar Shaikh), Tyesha (Travina Springer), Muneeba (Zenobia Shroff) and Yusuf (Mohan Kapur).

Since Ms. Marvel UK premiere, Vellani sharing her love for Bollywood star Sha Rukh Khan and the series landing a theatrical release in Pakistan – Ms. Marvel continues to be in the spotlight. Star Vellani teasing the show’s tribute to MCU legacy star Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow has only attracted more veteran fanatics. With the series just days away from its streaming release date, new promos and TV spots have emerged teasing Kamala’s cosmic powers and her coming-of-age storyline. Some new adverts like bus promotions with Ms. Marvel posters have appeared on social media but fans were more in awe by Marvel’s clever marketing tactic in New Jersey, USA.

A billboard design with Ms. Marvel in her iconic seated pose on top of a Town sign was spotted on the drive to New Jersey Turnpike. Kamala Khan’s comfy pose is similar to Ms. Marvel’s comic front cover. Another such promotional banner had Ms. Marvel co-creator Sana Amanat screaming in excitement. Early reviews are already in for Ms. Marvel episodes 1 and 2 and critics showering praises for newcomer Vellani as well as the show’s Muslim representation. Vellani will reprise the young superhero/16-year-old Pakistani American in the Brie Larson starring The Marvels set for 2023 release.

Ms. Marvel series was penned by a room of writers led by Bisha K. Ali and Episode 1 and Episode 6 of season 1 Directed by duo Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. Meera Menon helmed an episode while Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy served as director for three. Ms. Marvel arrives on Disney Plus on June 8.
