The recently released promo trailers for Transformers: The Last Knight have revealed convincing action sequences to assure fans that the film is beyond our expectations. However, it still hasn’t unveiled the reason behind Optimus Prime’s invasion on Earth.
Earlier trailers revealed the leader of Autobots going up against the very people he protected in past movies. Moreover, we also see Optimus Prime going up against Bumblebee and he seems to be going for the kill.
Finally, the reason behind his change of heart has been revealed in the new synopsis. Golden Link Europe shared the new plot details along with its promotional packaging skins for the film (MINOR SPOILER ALERT BELOW).
“Optimus Prime finding his home planet, Cybertron, now a dead planet, which he comes to find he was responsible for killing. He finds a way to bring the planet back to life. But in order to do so he needs to find an artifact, and that artifact is on Earth.”
Going by the new synopsis, it reveals the reason why Earth has been the main targeted planet by Cybertron. Prime seems to blame his own actions for the death of his planet. Furthermore, it looks like the leader of Autobot is in search of redemption and seeks it by reviving his planet again.
Directed by Michael Bay, Transformers: The Last Knight releases on June 23rd, 2017. Actor Mark Wahlberg has also reprised his character from the previous title.
