Is AMC teasing a prequel movie based on The Walking Dead or is it just April Fool’s Day joke? On April 1st, a poster teasing a Daryl Dixon prequel movie was posted on Twitter. While some fell for it, others didn’t take too long to realize that it might be just a prank.
In its report, Comicbook noted that it is a faux poster that was posted on The Walking Dead official Twitter account. The poster is an image of Norman Reedus’ fan-favorite character Daryl Dixon’s crossbow that he has used on several occasions to slay zombies and fight any invaders.
“Some stories begin before the dead rise,” reads the tagline on the poster.
“Next year’s going to be fun,” reads the caption of the post promising the release date of the movie to be March 29, 2019.
Fans are not too thrilled with the prank and are hoping a movie of sorts to be a real thing. Following are a few responses by fans to the Tweet:
Meanwhile, The Walking Dead Season 8 is fast approaching its finale. The show will wrap up on April 15 with episode 16 titled “Wrath.” It will see the conclusion to the all-out-war storyline and the epic war between Negan’s Saviours and Alexandria-Hilltop-Kingdom alliance headed by Rick Grimes.
In an interview with TV Line, The Walking Dead showrunner confirmed that the finale will feature a “resolution of the war.” While he restrained from revealing any specific details, he promised it will be nothing that fans or even the show characters ever expected or wanted. Whatever the conclusion is, it will certainly have an aftermath to deal with. In addition, the showrunner teased more casualties which is a no surprise for fans as it is a usual feature of The Walking Dead’s important episodes.
“The communities join forces in the last stand against the Saviors as the all-out war unfolds,” reads the official synopsis for The Walking Dead Season 8 finale “Wrath.”
The Walking Dead Season 8 airs Sundays on AMC. Be sure to keep visiting Pursue News for more updates and information.
