Earlier, it was reported that Warner Bros. & DC Films’ Shazam! would be returning to Toronto for 3 weeks of reshoots starting from November 1. If you’re wondering why you haven’t caught a whiff of it on social media, It looks like the reshoots have been met with a slight delay.
UPDATE: The most recent listings reveals that the reshoots will wrap on December 22.
Production Weekly’s recent listings confirm that the reshoots will begin on November 6 under the working title ‘FRANKLIN’. But will be ending sooner than earlier reported with its wrap date set for November 20. That is close to 2 weeks or more worth of reshoots.
It was speculated that the reshoots could be a sign that Warner Bros. and Henry Cavill have come to terms and have worked out a way to include a cameo of Superman in Shazam!. A recent tweet put out by The Nerd Rage podcast stated that Cavill would fulfill his contractual obligation to appear as the Man of Steel for a post-credits scene in Shazam!.
It must also be noted that Cavill has already begun working on the Netflix’s The Witcher series. Just recently, the actor himself shared a short clip from his costume and makeup test donning the look of his character Geralt. Unfortunately, the reveal was met with a mixed reaction but it could look better in the actual series.
The DCEU fandom hasn’t seen much of Shazam! except for some early stills from the movie and the first trailer released at SDCC. A second trailer is rumored to have an improved version of the suit. Even director David F. Sandberg confirmed that the superhero’s suit did go through some reworks.
Recently in an interview, Zachary Levi spoke about the experience he felt during the filming of a scene for the movie. The actor said that he felt like a “Bona fide superhero” when he donned the superhero suit and filmed his scenes.
Shazam! movie is expected to hit theaters on April 5, 2019.
